CF Foundation Receives Record Gift to Expand College Equine, Ag Programs
The College of Central Florida Foundation has received the largest gift in its history. A 103-acre farm valued at more than $2.9 million will soon provide hands-on learning opportunities for students in the college’s Equine Studies and Agribusiness programs.
Located on County Road 475 just minutes from the CF Ocala Campus, the farm was donated in December 2016 by a longtime Marion County supporter of education and agriculture.
“This year the college celebrates 60 years of providing education and workforce training in our community, and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate our past accomplishments than to look to the future,” said Dr. Jim Henningsen, CF president. “This gift will allow CF to be part of a select group in the nation offering 100 percent experiential learning opportunities.”
CF Foundation Board Chairman Fred Roberts Jr. said the Vintage Farm gift is a game changer for the college’s Equine Studies and Agribusiness programs.
“The foundation board is grateful for our community’s generous support of CF and its students,” said Roberts. “The faculty and staff do great work, and this gift ensures that the strong programming and top-notch reputation CF has will hold firm in the years to come.”
