A.A. Degree Requirements

Your program of study, your way!

Considering an Associate in Arts? An A.A. is a two-year degree for students planning to transfer to a four-year institution or entering a bachelor’s program at CF.

An A.A. student will complete General Education requirements including courses in English, humanities, social sciences, mathematics  and natural sciences.

The A.A. student will select a transfer pathway for advising purposes. Each A.A. transfer pathway includes a limited number of courses within that area. For example, a student considering a bachelor’s degree in art would take electives focused on the arts. A student pursing biology would take electives focused on the sciences. Your first stop should be to speak to an advisor (Student Advising) for Associate in Arts degree advising information. Advising sheets are available for each transfer pathway within the Associate in Arts and will help you and your advisor plan your academic career.

Completion of the Associate in Arts also guarantees admission to a Florida university. That means that the A.A. degree holder will be granted admission to one of 11 universities in the State University System and will be awarded at least 60 credit hours toward a bachelor’s degree. Also, we have a Direct Connection to University of Central Florida guaranteeing admission. Click to find out more about Direct Connect.

Looking for more reasons to complete your first two years at CF? Consider the fact that CF tuition is one of the most affordable in the U.S. and nearly half what you would pay at a four-year public university in Florida. CF also has small class sizes, is military friendly and has a robust student life program. We consistently come in as one of the top 20% of the colleges in the United States according to the Aspen Institute.

The Career Coach link next to each specialty will give you an idea of what types of jobs you could potentially end up with. You will also find a list of jobs in our tricounty area, available with focus on that specialization.
