Q. What is the Learning Resources Center?
The Stearns Learning Resources Center (LRC) at the Ocala Campus is located in Building 3 and houses both the Library and the Learning Support Center. The LRC offers Wi-Fi access, computers, charging stations, two printing stations, and a comfortable lounge area.
Q. When is the LRC open?
Regular fall and spring term hours are: Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday: 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Q. What resources are available to me at the Library?
The library collection includes more than 70,000 print books, 90 serial subscriptions (magazines, journals, newspapers), over 5,000 DVDs, tens of thousands of streaming videos, 100 databases with access to millions of articles (including full-text), and access to more than 50,000 eBooks.
Q. How many books and DVDs can I check out, and for how long?
With a student ID, you can check out up to 20 books, 5 per subject area, for three weeks. Five DVDs can be checked out, at a time, for 7 days.
Q. What can I do at the Learning Support Center?
The Learning Support Center (Rm 101) offers free tutoring in nearly every subject taught at CF. The Writing Center helps with research papers and assignments. Computers are available with Microsoft Office programs, Canvas, and internet access.
Q. Can I print at the LRC?
Yes. Printing is available from all computers in the Learning Resources Center, on the 1st and 2nd floors, 10 cents per page for black and white, 23 cents for color. Visa and Mastercard accepted.
Q. Can I use my own computer at the LRC?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. You can print from your computer or device by saving to a flash drive or via email.
Q. How do I access full-text electronic resources from home?
Library Search (the library's online catalog) gives you access to all electronic holdings from any internet connected computer as long as you are logged into your MyCF account. CF provides tutoring and writing assistance free to students through the Learning Support Center (Building 3, 1st floor).
Q. What can I do on my web portal?
Currently, you can register for classes, change your name and address, check the status of your financial aid, check if you have any missing financial aid documents, check your grades, run a degree audit, print unofficial transcripts, pay for courses, print a copy of your schedule, and check your fees.
Q. What is my web portal user ID and password?
To access your web portal, enter your CF ID as you User ID. Depending on when you enrolled at CF, your default password is either the month and day of birth (mmdd) or the password you created as part of your application. If you do not know your CF ID number, you can retrieve it here.
Q. Who can I call with E-Learning and Canvas questions?
