Change of Status

New F-1 Students

If you are currently OUTSIDE the United States and require an F1 student visa to study at CF, complete the following steps in order to apply. Once you have completed the requirements below, please allow approximately one week for your application to be processed. Once you are accepted to CF, you will receive a Form I-20 and instructions on how to apply for an F-1 student visa through the U.S. Embassy in your country.

1. Online Application

Click here now to apply online as an international student.

There is a $30 application fee at the end of the application.
After you complete the application, you will receive an e-mail with your student ID number.
Log into https://mycf.cf.edu/ics and complete the Non-Florida Residency Declaration Form. 

2. High School Documents

You must have your high school diploma and transcripts evaluated and sent to CF. Send your documents to one of the following evaluation agencies for a “document by document evaluation”. If your documents are not in English, you will also need to have an official English translation. The cost of the evaluation and translation are the responsibility of the student.

Official Educational Agency Partners of CF can send official translated documents directly to CF.
If you graduated high school inside the United States, you may send your official transcripts directly to CF and are not required to have your documents evaluated. 

3. Proof of Financial Support 

You must submit evidence of financial responsibility and have sufficient funds to pay tuition and fees, textbook cost, medical and living expenses, and health insurance. You must complete the online Confidential Financial Statement Form.

4. Photocopy of Passport

Email a photocopy of your passport to international@cf.edu. Include your CF student ID number in your email. 

TRANSFER STUDENTS (INSIDE OF THE U.S.)

If you are currently INSIDE the United States, attending high school, college, university, English Language programs or other institution, you will be considered a transfer student. In additional to the required documents listed above, U.S. transfer students must also submit:

Official Transcripts From Previous School

If you have previously attended a U.S. college or university, you must request a copy of your official transcripts be sent directly to CF from your previous school. No evaluation is needed for transcripts from a U.S. college or university.

If you have previously attended a U.S. high school or English Language program on an F-1 student visa, you must submit your official transcripts to CF.

Copy of F-1 visa and I-20s

Email a photocopy of your F-1 student visa, as well as your current and all previous I-20s to international@cf.edu. Include your CF student ID number in your email.

CF Transfer Form

Complete the Transfer Form and submit to CF. Your current Designated School Official (DSO) must also sign the form.

TRANSFER STUDENTS (OUTSIDE OF THE U.S.)

Transfer Credits from Foreign College or University

If you have earned credits at a non-US college or university that you would like to transfer to CF, send your transcripts to one of the following evaluation agencies for a “course by course” evaluation. If your documents are not in English, you will also need to have an official English translation. The cost of the evaluation and translation are the responsibility of the student.

If you elect to not transfer your previous college coursework from a foreign college or university, please send a written statement to international@cf.edu indicating that you are choosing to not transfer your credits and understand that you will not receive credit for previous college coursework.

Change of Status

If you are currently inside the United Status with a valid visa that is NOT an F-1 visa, and you want to apply for an F-1 visa and enroll in classes at CF, please visit our Change of Status page for information about changing your immigration status.
